Kai is a master jeweller and artist trained in Finland, Switzerland before moving to Far North Queensland. His multidisciplinary practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture as well as gold and silversmithing. Kai takes a figurative approach in exploring the nuance and emotion of the human subject and natural world.
In recent years, his paintings have been selected as finalists for the Kennedy Art Prize, KAAF Art Prize, Stan & Mareen Duke Gold Coast Art Prize, and the Nora Heysen Centenary Art Prize for Still Life, in addition to which he has won jewellery design awards in Australia and Hong Kong. With a career spanning over 40 years Kai's work is held in private collections in Australia and abroad.
