"Some paintings just hold a space—and this one does it in the best way. The Space Between is a large-scale diptych measuring 244cm wide, created on raw natural linen and layered with earthy tones, subtle texture, and soft shifts in form. It’s grounded, calm, and quietly confident.

Painted in my Perth studio, this original abstract artwork brings together warmth and movement in a way that feels both spacious and connected. There’s a strong sense of balance between the two panels—like they’re in conversation with each other. It’s not symmetrical, but it flows. The layered brushstrokes create depth and interest, with plenty of small details that slowly reveal themselves the longer you spend with it.

The palette features a rich mix of neutrals—warm browns, soft greys, creamy beige—and yes, even a nod to Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse. The natural linen background gives everything room to breathe and adds a raw, tactile quality that makes the colours feel even more grounded." – Rebecca Koerting
