Oil on canvas, box framed in white frame.
In The Mess We Bloom In, a group of figures gathers in a swirl of colour, conversation, and presence. The boundaries between bodies and objects dissolve, reflecting the way our lives bleed into one another — through laughter, exhaustion, confession, and distraction. This piece is a visual poem about the beauty that forms in the chaos of shared existence.
Everyone is together, but not always connected. Some lean in, some drift away. Some are mid-sentence, others lost in thought. Yet amidst the emotional noise, there is intimacy — not in perfection, but in presence.
Painted with molten edges and rhythmic warmth, this work reflects the layered nature of relationships: messy, noisy, beautiful, and necessary. It’s about the sacred ordinariness of being seen in a room full of feeling.
Living in Melbourne, Anahita Amouzegar has been in love with painting since she was a kid. She adores colours, and loves the process of creating pieces where they live together in harmony, neither overpowering or underpowering; the beauty in painting is in bringing many movements and simulation into harmony and gentleness.
Anahita enjoys painting vibrant abstracts mixed with figures that are full of movement, often incorporating several layers of paint, introducing raised areas and texture to her pieces. Inspired by the combination of nature and human life, Anahita works intuitively, painting without a finished piece in mind and allowing her subconscious to bring out her reality as a person within her paintings.
