About the Unearthed Art Prize
Our Unearthed Art Prize aims to give new, up-and-coming artists an opportunity to join our stables and to develop their passion and career in the arts industry. The 26 shortlisted finalists are able to develop their passion and career in the arts sector, while benefiting from exhibiting, selling and showcasing their work to art collectors and buyers alike.
Shortlisted Finalist artworks: Will be available for sale at our following Pop-Up exhibition until the closing date, for RRP$550 each with $400 going to the artist on the event of a sale.
People's Choice Prize: Voted by visitors to the gallery and via our online voting portal, the People’s Choice winner will be given the opportunity to showcase a selection of 3 additional artworks at one of our future exhibitions.
Framing: While there is no entry fee for this art prize, shortlisted artworks will need to be framed for the exhibition according to our specifications. Framing is facilitated through Art to Art at a cost of $150 per artwork. If your entry is shortlisted, you will be invoiced for framing. Want to frame your work yourself? You will need to discuss this with us to be sure it meets our specifications and has been chosen as a finalist.

Can my work be larger or smaller than 51 x 61 cm? No. In order for shortlisted artworks to be displayed and framed consistently in the gallery, we require all submitted works to be 51 x 61 cm. Artworks on paper can fall within this size, and will be framed behind a window mount so the final framed size matches the other entrants.
Does my artwork have to be on stretched canvas? We encourage all kinds of artists to submit works of various mediums to the Unearthed Art Prize. If shortlisted, your work will need to be framed to the size we’ve specified. This can be discussed to ensure your artwork is presented to your liking. Framing cost will vary and will be quoted accordingly.
What mediums do you accept? Paint on canvas, photographic prints, watercolour on paper, lithographs, textiles etc…. All artworks are required to be original or one-off prints.
Can I submit if I am interstate? Absolutely! The art prize is open to anyone within Australia. So long as you are able to get the artwork delivered or couriered to the gallery within the indicated timeframe if shortlisted, you are welcome to submit.
What image should I upload? Please upload an image of your completed artwork(s), face on and showing the whole artwork - make sure it is not cropped.
Can I upload more than one image? Yes. Uploading a couple of different photos of your artwork will help us to view and judge your piece. You may like to include some close up detail shots along with the photo of your full work.
I'm having trouble uploading my work Please ensure any files you are uploading are below 2MB, or alternatively email: email@example.com
