Acrylic on canvas.
Ian Gunn finds a combination of intuitive mark making and remembered landscapes as the focus for his art practice. His paintings start with a memory, then mark making, using a variety of brushes and different consistencies of his chosen medium, acrylic paint.
As the shapes evolve, he adds multiple translucent layers to partially cover some areas and reveal others.Ian's paintings are about seeing, experimenting, combining micro and macro elements of his chosen subject, whether landscape or flowers, wth remembered accidental and purposeful mark making.
