Untethered captures the immensity of the southern sky as clouds drift with the wind toward the open ocean. When I come to explore the coast, I experience a sense of release. The fresh air in my lungs and the openness of the space bring me clarity and quiet. This painting is an attempt to hold onto that feeling, to distil a fleeting moment of freedom and preserve it in paint.
