"My first piece of advice is don’t overthink it, if you're anything like me your first intuition is the right one, you can’t get it wrong because its what you like."
– Daniela
Daniela's Collection
From never having bought art in the past, to being the proud owner of a number of stunning original artworks, Daniela has loved the journey of becoming an art owner. She began with the absolutely stunning Kate Debbo showstopper piece, with beautiful maroons, dark teals and pinks, she was attracted to the colours immediately.
"When I saw it I absolutely fell in love with it and I knew I had to have it."
Over time, her collection has expanded through her house, bringing colour and style across her walls. A geometric, colourful Martha Lord in her engineer husbands study, a gentle floral Laura White artwork over her bar stand, a subtle but textured Colleen Guiney work along her entryway... and most recently a bold, brushstroke laden Christine Minter creates the centrepiece of her sitting room.
"I love in that front room that as you walk in it actually draws your eye. You can see the colour just draw people to turn around. I’ve only had it up for a week and everyone that’s come has gone 'wow that is amazing.'"
Why Daniela Chose Art to Art
Walking into Art to Art, the first thing Daniela noticed was the amazing variety and breadth of art on the walls, but it was also the casual, local atmosphere that she loved. Being able to take her time to explore the collection, to view the art and then to chat to the team about the pieces was essential in helping her find pieces she loved.
Daniela was also helped by our Art In-Situ service, receiving a beautiful digital in-situ, that reassured her that the piece was the right work for her wall.
"The In-Situ helped immensely, especially with my first piece. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too big or too small for the wall, and they did an amazing job in confirming that it would fit perfectly. Everybody should do it if they are unsure of a piece of artwork that they’re wanting to buy.'"
Lastly, Daniela loved receiving Art to Art's newsletters and digital catalogues sent straight to her email. Being able to flip through catalogues beautifully displaying the range of available art helped her make her decision, and she loved being able to see so many Australian artists all in once place.
"I notice artwork a lot more now when I go into peoples homes, I really do. They dress the walls, they dress the house... I never ever thought I would have an art collection ever, and here I am now."
