Born in 1973, Janet is a Utopia artist, and member for the Anmatyarre skin group. Janet comes from a family of painters, including her grandmothers Polly Ngale and Angelina Pwerle, her uncle Greeny Pruvis and sister Belinda Golder. Janet is also married to Ronnie Bird, son of famous artist Ada Bird Petyarre.
Janet has been painting since 1987 and paints the stories passed down from her female influences including Awelye (Ceremonial Body Paint) and My Country illustrating the Utopian Landscapes. Janet is a sought-after artist, her paintings are known for her inclusion of bright, saturated colours, and have been displayed in galleries in Australia and overseas.
