Daniella Cristallo

Sydney based artist Daniela Cristallo creates abstract works predominantly in acrylic and oil-stick on canvas or board. It is through this medium that she builds the and layers the richly textured abstract paintings she is known for.

Painting from her studio, she is heavily inspired by the Australian landscapes, strongly drawing upon her plain air studies, to explore these places, expressing their forms and palettes in a more primal way.

 “I allow the work to develop of its own accord which is paramount to the process; I don’t just want to paint a pretty landscape, but capture the essence of this spirited land in the most authentic way I can.”
