Madeleine Simson
A contemporary Australian artist living and working in Melbourne, Victoria, Madeleine works mainly in acrylics and is a realist still life painter.
Using colour and shadow, she creates bold, highly detailed and photorealist compositions, finding beauty in the more mundane things. She loves the challenge of making everyday items like shopping trolleys, milk crates and half eaten toast, seem like a masterpiece and something to be behold. Madeleine paints the bubbles in a cup of coffee or crumbs on a tablecloth, with enough detail and colour, they jump off the canvas.

Madeleine has worked in Graphic design, Textile design and Illustration for the past 17 years. Working in these roles has refined her skills and eye for detail, her illustration skills come through in her paintings and she can use her knowledge of colour and lay out to compose an interesting and unique composition on the canvas.
