Nick Geyl

Nick Geyl has been painting for most of his life, with a passion for producing art spanning over 35 years. Based in Wurtulla, QLD, Nick creates works that are reflections of his memories and life, created in colour and texture to tell stories of the moments and places he experiences. With a strong connection to his surroundings and a passion for the wildlife, flora and people around him, many of Nick's works reflect a love of the outdoors; and showcase various scenes of ocean surfing, fishing and camping. Nick's style is inspired by impressionism, utilising thick, visible brushstrokes that amplify the light and movement of each piece. He loves dappled light and enjoys the different angles brushstrokes create. Nick's process involves dwelling on an idea or concept for a while and then re-creating and problem solving it with paints or inks to create it in his own unique style.
