Sarah Rowe
Sarah's work centres around colour, shape and pattern and how they interact with each other. She loves nothing more than to experiment with combinations of these three basic elements to create an expression of herself. Sarah favours the use of strong colour with impact, and likes contrasts. The forms she make are often juxtaposed against each other into an abstract landscape or an aerial view composition, occasionally there are figurative elements. As Sarah is also a textile designer, she finds it natural to collage and layer together the separate painted pieces in a very fabric-like way.
Sarah has come back to painting after a very long time away from it. Her main bread and butter is in textile design which she also has a great love for, and often her inspiration and motivation comes from interiors and textiles. Sarah is influenced by artists who work with colour.
