Vanessa is a Brisbane artist inspired by still life arrangements and haphazard domestic beauty. Painted in acrylics, her works are centred on decorative vessels, botanicals and the everyday. A collector of ceramics, fabrics, art books and artworks, Vanessa loves to arrange her belongings into moody tableaux with a clash of colour and pattern, or imagine beautiful juxtapositions. Each painting is a melange of her inspirations, experiences, memories, nostalgia and surroundings.

Growing up in Byron Bay, Vanessa spent innumerable hours of her youth engrossed in artmaking and creative adventures. She began her professional life as a Graphic Designer working for advertising agencies both in Australia and the UK and now holds separate tertiary qualifications in Design, Visual Arts, and Education. Vanessa has been a practising artist over the last 20 years and loves nothing better than pinching porcelain, painting and decorating surfaces, splashing colour and travelling to find new sights and inspirations. Her art is held in private collections and various galleries around the country.
