Mounting styles reflect the way in which a paper artwork is mounted to the frame's backboard. Our options for mounting are as follows:
Framing Art to Edge: The artwork will completely cover the backboard of the frame, and may even be marginally covered to ensure nothing peaks through. This si a clean look, which maximises the artworks size within the frame. It can be a particularly good options for artworks where the artist has already left a margin space around their piece.
Window Mounted with a Matt Board: A window cut matt board is placed over the artwork, sandwiching it against the back of the frame. This creates a clean, sleek look where the artworks edges are kept neat and even, while also delineating a space around the artwork that allows it breathe.
Float Mounted on Backboard: The artwork is raised just slightly above the frames backboard, making it appear to be floating within the frame. This creates a beautiful but sutble shadow line around the work, and emphasises the piece as whole. This framing style is especially recommended if your artwork has been created on specialty or handmade paper, and you wish to preserve the unique edge appearance.
