EXPRESSIVE & VIBRANT
Bold. Messy. Honest. Hey Stranger is one of those pieces that came together by feel—not overthought, just painted with instinct and trust in the process. It’s expressive and layered, with marks that hold tension and softness at the same time.
There’s a familiarity in this piece that’s hard to pin down. Like running into someone you haven’t seen in years and feeling like no time has passed. It’s got that quiet magnetism—the kind that doesn’t demand your attention, but keeps pulling you back.
Painted on raw natural linen, the palette moves between warm pinks, muted neutrals, and deeper earthy tones. It’s full of subtle shifts and layered gestures—some bold, some barely there. Together they create a rhythm that unfolds the longer you sit with it.
Created in Rebecca's Perth studio, Hey Stranger is an original abstract painting designed to bring presence, warmth, and a bit of mystery into your space.

Rebecca Koerting is a contemporary abstract artist whose work is deeply inspired by nature and the rich landscapes of Australia.
Her paintings are bold and expressive, marked by dynamic compositions of sweeping shapes, layered textures, and vibrant colours. Each piece invites curiosity, encouraging you to linger and discover stories within its layers, while also finding your own connection to the story it holds.
"I grew up in Ocean Grove, a coastal town on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, where the salty air and sandy shores were part of my everyday life. My childhood was shaped by days exploring the beaches and family trips across this vast country—from the turquoise waters of the shoreline to the red earth and ancient markings of Uluru. These experiences have left a lasting impression on me, shaping how I see and interpret the world around me.
Through my art, I try to capture that sense of connection—pieces that feel alive in their imperfections, honest and expressive. Each painting is a reflection of the world as I see it: vibrant, dynamic, and beautifully imperfect."
