Soft Serve #2
68 x 88 cm
Acrylic & aerosol on canvas, framed in natural timber.
This original stencil painting by Melbourne artist Geoff Cunningham captures the nostalgic character of Australian neighbourhoods and everyday childhood moments of the 1970s and 80s. Geoff blends hand-cut stencils and layered spray techniques to create bold light, shadow and detail. Each piece celebrates the warmth, simplicity and familiarity of retro Australian life.
"Nothing says summer like a swirl of Mr Whippy on a hot day. 'Soft Serve' is all about that carefree, cheeky side of Aussie nostalgia — melting ice cream, heart-shaped sunnies, and that effortless cool that defined a generation.
There’s a flirty sense of fun here — a nod to those long, lazy afternoons when the biggest decision was chocolate or vanilla. With its bright pop of colour and retro attitude, this piece brings a smile and a wink to any wall." – Geoff Cunningham
