I live in the northern NSW hinterland. Sometimes fog or clouds weave amongst the rolling hills, blurring the edges between land and sky. I love watching this landscape change under different conditions and connecting with nature’s rhythms. A favourite time of day is dusk, as the light fades into night the sky often stops me in my tracks. This beauty creates a sense of awe and optimism that leads to more expansive thought, it inspired the title ‘Enter Horizons’.
I enjoyed the interplay between varying brushstrokes in this painting, smudging some and explicitly leaving others to show obvious strokes. The firm horizon feature is grounding amongst movement and flow.
