Paying attention to the natural Moon cycle has guided my paintings over the last year… These two distill much of what’s emerged-repeated circles/arcs, horizons & sky gradations. An abstraction of feeling time. These become little hand painted touchstones to feel time & notice beauty (in what feels like a speedy world gone mad sometimes).
‘Luna No.3’ has subtle repeated blue ridgelines along the bottom. The distant hills visible from my house turn a cool blue in the evenings. Seeing the Moon rise over this ridge horizon is a thing ofbeauty.
