Portal No.2

Acrylic on canvas, framed in painted pine.

These little portholes are portals to somewhere else that is calm yet colourful. They are made from layered horizontal brushstrokes with the brush hairs weaving like fabric. I used colours taken from my landscape during different times of day.

The circle began as a Moon reference but in these works I feel they offer a window out to sea. A holiday moment perhaps.
