Brent Rosenberg
Living and working in Melbourne, Australia, Brent Rosenberg is a contemporary Australian artist best known for his artworks that utilise portraiture elements to draw on memories and experiences throughout his life. Brent's family lived in Johannesburg, South Africa prior to living in Melbourne, and the forms and faces he creates are often influenced by his experiences there.
“All my work at the very core of my creation are a feeling or sense of that time and space. Feelings & thoughts at that moment are used to ultimately express my ideas, social environment and my deepest emotion with in each painting. For me the fascination of the human facial features and diversity of what makes a face beautiful is unparalleled to any other human feature, The beauty within ones eyes are the entry to ones soul. We all feel our senses heightened when face to face with another human. Using my own life experiences and molding the concepts of balance in life form in the abstract world around us, i can then express my works by creating something tangible onto the canvas. Not everything is visible to our world. The abstract dimensions use a interpretation of the invisible natural elements that we live with day to day. My work has continued to evolved organically as i have learnt to delve deeper into my creative control and let go of mental constraints when creating.”
