Craig Holloway
Craig Holloway grew up in Ballarat, playing Aussie rules football through muddy winters and cricket in blazing summers. He graduated as a food scientist and working in that industry for ten years while he took various part-time courses in photography and printing techniques. Finally chucking in the lab coat he traveled through Europe, cycled through France, lived in Provence for a year, then Scotland, all the while capturing the surrounds.
Craig then lived in New Zealand for seven years, running a luxury Lodge in Russell, Bay of Islands while documenting life and culture of the small village before plunging into digital photography full-time and opening the Bay of Islands Image Gallery, exhibiting in several group shows. Returning to Ballarat in 2007 Craig continued his commercial work, including freelance photojournalism for The Ballarat Courier, and as a former board member of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale he has exhibited in several events between 2009 and 2017.
Craig Holloway's latest exhibition, Road Trip featured in the Ballarat International Foto Biennale in August – September 2017. His fifteen month long odyssey around the Australia in a caravan during 2015 & 2016 has resulted in a wealth of experiences and a huge library of new images that explore many aspects of this vast country, from dramatic landscapes to unique views of people and places.
