Primarily a portrait painter, Lesley Shelley also enjoys painting landscapes, seascapes and still life artworks. She is drawn to the challenge of painting a realistic likeness and of composing visually pleasing compositions in her works. Having dreamt of becoming a portrait artist in her teens, Lesley completed a 'Master-class' with acclaimed portrait artist Robert Hannaford, before continuing her studies with an Associate Diploma of Visual Art and Bachelor of Fine Art. Lesley's successful career of painting and exhibiting has now spanned over two decades, contributing to numerous group and solo exhibitions, being featured in multiple magazines and publications and with her work in multiple private and public collections across Queensland and beyond. She has also studied Art Therapies and Education, and has taught workshops and continuing education courses. Lesley Shelley works from her studio on Bribie island, north of Brisbane.
