Photographer & printmaker Mat Hughes is a Melbourne based artist. He is well known for his traditional handmade photographs using film with large format cameras. Mat exhibits regularly both here in Melbourne and also abroad. The artworks presented here are from his digital portfolio. The emphasis is on statement photographs that stand out and impress with their strong graphic quality. The fun InRock music series feature old tape cassettes and brings teenage bedroom posters back but this time with a serious edge in super-sized, bold acid colour and framed extra large to die for. 'The Dune series are stylistically dark, muscular, and minimal whilst the Seascape series captures the beach house vibe with timeless soft light and calming breezy colours that we find along our coastlines. All prints include a printed white border that is included in the sizing information. This gives you the flexibility and option to frame without needing a cardboard matte. These are inkjet pigment prints (giclée) and are printed on 310 gsm cotton rag archival paper. All work is printed to order by the artist and is signed and numbered on the front in pencil.
