Noni Drew
Focussing on the emotional response to colour relationality and themes such as memory, the domestic and motherhood, Noni's practice draws on personal observations and mediated images which are deconstructed and layered into abstracted compositions which hint at figures, landscapes, interiors and still lives. Exploring the boundaries between abstraction and representation, Noni's experiences of travel and engagement with other cultures, particularly her time living in Morocco, heavily influence her work. Combining bold gestural and painterly marks with hard edged shapes, her work is spontaneous and organic in its evolution.
