Stephanie Brown

Stephanie Brown is a multidisciplinary artist, working in both traditional media and as a tattoo artist since 2011. Stephanie draws her inspiration from the natural world, images from art history and uses free-hand techniques to create large and detailed compositions. Stephanie's tattoo work is deeply complimentary and considerate of the human form, and works with a strong thread of representing traditional medium and mark-making not typically found in tattooing.

Based in New York, Stephanie partnered with the Field Museum as a student of artist-in-residence, Peggy Macnamara – in a developing project working with the ornithology collections department to create new connections between research collections and the long history of artists representing those species.
