As a proud Wiradjuri woman, Amanda Hinkelmann was born on Wiradjuri Country in Wagga Wagga. Amanda considers herself fortunate enough to grow up with just enough Country to connect with Mother Earth, and just enough city to connect with some incredible people.
Rediscovering her passion for art in 2019, Amanda has always had creative pursuits. As a child, she was inspired by her father, from whom her Aboriginal heritage comes from. Amanda recalls her dad finding a new hobby or interest almost daily, carrying with him an amazing ‘how hard can it be’ attitude. Amanda was also gently encouraged by her mother, who saw the amazing souls she was raising and guided Amanda and her siblings to follow their intuitive strengths, however they presented themselves.
