Sarah Furzer has always been drawn to creative expression, beginning with childhood sketches and later formalised through a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication. Her early career as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator included work with a leading Melbourne design studio, collaborations with fashion brands, and commissioned projects for private clients.

A pivotal personal journey — becoming a mother and experiencing the profound loss of a child — led her back to painting as a slower, more intimate form of expression. What started as a quiet outlet during the pandemic has since developed into a dedicated full-time practice.

Her work now celebrates the richness of lived experience. Through bold forms, confident figures, layered textures and vibrant colour, she explores themes of connection, identity, joy, and the beauty found in everyday moments. Each piece is ultimately a reflection of love, diversity, togetherness and resilience.
