Working from the regional community of Orange, NSW, Madeline Young's abstracts paintings are inspired by the unique beauty of the Australian bush. Simplified and exaggerated shapes found in nature form the basis of her works, combined with blocks of colour which, like the Australian bushland, are simultaneously vibrant and serene. Madeline is inspired by the way sunlight filters through canopy, rays of light and shadow and the distinct colour and scent of Eucalypts.
Additionally Madeline is the curator and owner of The Corner Store Gallery in Orange, established in 2014 and providing a beautiful space for artists and designers to showcase their work and ideas.
