What is a limited edition print?

In printmaking, a limited edition print is created from one printing plate. These prints are usually made at the same time and are numbered consecutively. For example, a piece marked 20/100 is the 20th print of 100 prints produced at the time. The prints will also be signed by the artist and in some cases titled.
