New Artist Spotlight: June - Cameron Forsyth

An exciting new artist to our gallery, Cameron Forsyth's colourful retro art is heavily influence by present-day pop culture as well as moments from his childhood growing up in the 80s.

A self-taught artist born in the 80's, Cameron's influenced by present-day pop culture, as well as moments from his past growing up in Sydney. There's dashes of confectionery, dollops of retro sneakers and lashings of hot summers playing cricket, all rolled up into a sandwich of super-soaking colour.

Cameron has been a radio producer for twenty years making radio ads for a leading national network while living in Sydney with his wife, kids and dogs - every other waking moment he sinks into his love of art. Since 2017 Cameron has been developing his unique style, building and finding what he loves to paint. He enjoys exploring concepts and then progressing to a more disciplined-process approach when painting.

Working as a sound engineer and dabbling in photography and music producing has helped inspire his retro, pop-art influenced and attention-grabbing art-style.

His multi-disciplinary background also allows Cameron to experiment in new and different genres so he can carve out his own original style. Mostly working on stretched canvas, Cam uses aerosols as well as acrylic paints and inks to create his works.
