Leah Thiessan
Leah Thiessan has a deep affinity for the land as a place for immersion, to experience and be absorbed.
For Leah, her paintings are a way to explore unique methods of capturing the diversity of natural terrain and flora – often beginning her works with small delicate details, then moving through to an expression of frantic energy. Leah paints in an expressive and gestural way, through the process of painting over, scraping back and drawing into, her work is revealed.
Exhibiting since 2010, Leah works from her studio on the edge of the Terranora Broadwater in Northern NSW. In 2022 she was listed in the Top 100 Collectable Artists in Australia.
